Established in 2012, Waipa Civil is a Waikato-based civil construction firm delivering reliable, practical solutions for complex infrastructure projects across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Our team has extensive experience in water main construction, underground stormwater drainage, and directional drilling. Ryan is a founding director of Waipa Civil with over 15 years’ experience supervising large-scale civil and infrastructure projects. He has led multiple subdivision and watermain developments and understands the importance of communication with councils, contractors, and key stakeholders. Ryan oversees the daily running of the business, working closely with the Operations Manager to manage resources across projects.

Joe co-founded Waipa Civil and brings more than 20 years of business management experience from the plumbing and civil industries. He oversees finance and estimating, working closely with our Quantity Surveyor on tenders and cost control. Joe’s commercial background and leadership help maintain a strong, positive team culture.

Heath joined the management team with more than 15 years’ experience in civil construction. He specialises in ground dewatering, large-diameter pipelines, and complex earthworks. Heath leads the planning, resourcing, and performance management of Waipa Civil’s field teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Bradley joined Waipa Civil full time in 2020 after completing his civil engineering degree at the University of Canterbury. He assists with project supervision, surveying, and management tasks. Bradley brings technical skill, fresh ideas, and enthusiasm to the team.

We operate with dedicated crews across each discipline, including qualified water main operatives, certified drainlayers, and experienced earthworks teams.

Advanced equipment and training

Our fleet includes Astec and Vermeer horizontal directional drills (up to 100,000 lbs pullback), excavators (1.5–27T), trucks, water carts, vacuum units, and PE welding equipment for pipe installations up to 1000mm.

All machinery is maintained to manufacturer standards by our in-house fitters and service partners.

Waipa Civil invests in regular training to keep our team up to date with current technologies, safety systems, and regulatory requirements. This ensures every project benefits from the most efficient and compliant methods available.
